In the new development areas in the outskirts of Accra, there is a lack in state schools and kindergartens. Many families are seperated due to rural migration. Traditionally the women takes the main responsibility in the families in Ghana, and are handicapped through it, because they contrive with the child education alone and have no family to lean on.

Here the German-Ghanaian Development Aid Association have in Program to start in cooperation with the Teshie Mannoyaa Kpee a new project with the construction of a kindergarten and nursery school in Teshie. According to the planning, the building has 2 classrooms, a waiting room, a sick room, a staff room and sanitary facilities.
Single mothers are the target group for our project. They will get the opportunity to work regularely and to care for themselves and their children.
The construction will be executed by local professional workers in local style. The walls are made of concrete bricks, reinforced with steel mesh. The roof consists of a wooden frame with aluminum plates occupied. The windows consist of glass louvres in the front side and of ornament stones for the others to provide the necessary ventilation.

Members of the Teshie Mannoyaa Kpee and volunteers of the German-Ghanaian Development Assistance Association will supervise the construction.

For the ongoing operation after completion of the building project it is ensured that trained kindergarten personnell and teachers will take care of the children. The usual lunch and inbetween meals will be served by the associated nursery kitchen.
